  • Warranty issues

I am a very unhappy customer. After calling customer service, I learned that Empire would not honor the warranty on my carpet. I didn't receive ANY ease to my discomfort. They bascially just said "Sorry, can't help you." My response should have been "Okay, sorry, I won't have the rest of the carpet in my house replaced with you." I was planning on having the rest of the carpet in my house replaced and upgraded with empire, but now I know I can't trust their warranties. They said they could not help me because I can not provide receipt of professional... More...

  • SALESMAN LIED, NO TILES OR GROUT LEFT OVER, REFUSED TO SELL ME ANY

I have never done business with a company like this. The salesman comes to the house and tells me that it will take 2 days at the max with several workers coming to the house to remove the old self-stick tiles and install ceramic tiling. Four workers arrived the first day and the supervisor was stunned that there was tile to remove instead of carpeting. One full day to remove the old tile and FOUR MORE DAYS with only ONE WORKER working his butt off to install all the tiles in my home. One tile left over and no grout. I just wanted to purchase additional boxes of tile since I have a lot... More...

  • No one can figure it out!!'

This review has been resolved or replied to by this company. They made the first appt with me and called 20 minutes before the end of the time window and said that the rep could not make it. Then after numerous pesty harassing phone calls I decided to give them 1 more chance...well guess what they blew it again. Rep was going to be at least a hour to hour and a half late .I was assured by the person who called to set up second appt that that would never happen again and it did.Im so done and they are just aweful. The worst business manners I have ever see. Really ticked me off. Never again! More...

  • empire carpet

This review has been resolved or replied to by this company. Empire did a good job installing my carpet, but the installers folded up two of my area rugs, and now they have creases in them and the rugs will not lay flat and buckle because of the creases. You would think that carpet installer would know to roll the rugs instead of folding them, know they won't lay flat. Spoke with the salesman, Tom, who was supposed to talk with the carpet installer manager, but have not heard from anyone. Will not make any personal references here. More...

  • Buyers remorse...price now seems high

This review has been resolved or replied to by this company. Although I cannot complain about my service with the sales rep who came yesterday, and I cannot comment on the carpet yet, I have been told by several people that I rushed into a decision (I am behind on repairs because of the recent 9 day outage due to "Sandy"). I was quoted $4500 for 3 bedrooms, but with the "deal" Empire is offering it brought the price down to $3800. I realize I signed a contract and it is a commitment to this price, but I would recommend shopping around. No matter how I do the math, this is so much higher than it should be for the rooms. I... • Carpet Representative

Empire Today sent a rep out that we thought gave us a great price, we did give a "cash" security deposit, however when we needed to change the date and the color of some carpet he said to call him not Empire. When we decided to do so he did not meet with us as told, the next day he said he would give us a free room if we gave him $500 more cash. We offered to pay by credit card and he did not accept the payment. He then wanted to follow my husband to the ATM to get the money. Empire's higher up has not contacted us yet, and we are still waiting. Our contract and order is... More...

  • Defective Carpet Bad Installation

I spent $1900 to replace carpet in my living room and hall. The color I picked out was Kenya, a light tan. When the intallation was complete, I noticed three 3" dark wall to wall stripes in the hallway and one 3" stripe across the MIDDLE of the living room. When I said something to the installer he stated they would disappear in a day or two. I called two days later to complain they were still visable (at this time I was still within my cancel period) and to say if they couldn't correct the issue I wanted the carpet removed. They said the "seams" should be... More...
